About Lonavala

Lonavala is a scenic hill station located in the Sahyadri (Western Ghats) mountain range, between Mumbai and Pune. It lies at an elevation of about 624 meters above sea level and is famous for its lush green valleys, monsoon waterfalls, ancient forts, and serene lakes.

The town gained popularity during British rule and remains one of the most visited tourist destinations in Maharashtra. Lonavala is especially attractive during the monsoon season, when the hills turn vibrant green and waterfalls flow in full force.

It is also well known for chikki (a sweet made of jaggery and peanuts), which is a local specialty. With easy road and rail connectivity, Lonavala is ideal for families, couples, bikers, and nature lovers.
