Religious PlaceDeekshabhoomi is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India and a symbol of social equality, peace, and justice. It is the place where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, formally converted to Buddhism on 14 October 1956, along with his followers, rejecting caste discrimination.
The monument features a large white stupa (Chaitya Bhoomi) built in a modern Buddhist architectural style. Inside the stupa, visitors can see relics, photographs, and exhibitions related to Dr. Ambedkar’s life, teachings, and the Buddhist philosophy.
Every year, especially on Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din, millions of devotees from across India visit Deekshabhoomi. The atmosphere is peaceful, disciplined, and spiritual, reflecting the teachings of Lord Buddha and Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of equality.
