About Tawang

Tawang is a high-altitude town located at about 3,048 meters (10,000 ft) above sea level in the eastern Himalayas, close to the India–China border. It is renowned for the Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and the second largest in the world, established in the 17th century.
