About Trimbakeshwar Temple

Trimbakeshwar Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India and holds immense religious significance in Hinduism. Located at the foothills of the Brahmagiri Mountains, near Nashik, the temple is revered as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

The temple’s most unique feature is the three-faced (Trimbak) Jyotirlinga, representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva). The current temple structure was rebuilt in the 18th century by Peshwa Nana Saheb, using black basalt stone in classic Nagara-style architecture.

Trimbakeshwar is also considered holy because the Godavari River originates here, making it an important site for rituals such as Narayan Nagbali, Kalsarpa Shanti, Pitru Dosha, and Shraddha ceremonies. During Kumbh Mela, millions of devotees visit this sacred town.
