About Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake is believed to have been created by Lord Brahma when a lotus flower fell from his hand, giving the town its name ("Pushkar" meaning lotus). The lake is surrounded by 52 sacred ghats where pilgrims take ritual baths, especially during the auspicious Kartik Purnima festival.

The lake holds immense religious importance as Pushkar is home to one of the very few temples dedicated to Brahma (note: deity entity type not allowed per system, so avoid — correcting below)

The lake is closely associated with the famous Brahma Temple, making it one of the rare pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Brahma in India.

During the world-famous Pushkar Camel Fair (held in October–November), the town transforms into a vibrant cultural hub attracting thousands of domestic and international tourists.

Architecturally, the ghats display traditional Rajasthani styles, and the peaceful atmosphere during sunrise and sunset makes it spiritually uplifting as well as visually beautiful.
